But everyone can do something. When considering helping the homeless and indigent it can seem daunting. Sometimes it feels like all we do to help these people is just a drop in the bucket. Anyone who has ever had a leaky roof knows that one drop adds up quickly. When we all give a little it makes all the difference in the world. Below are some ways to help some are big and some are small but all are needed.

Flipping The Table

Partner with us to feed the hungry. We are so blessed to receive an abundance of ingredients to help us serve our street friends warm meals. Rhute family, We Need YOU! We are asking volunteers who are willing to join our new program, Flip The Table. The purpose of this program is to feed the hungry. We want to feed whoever is in need of a meal. We are asking YOU, volunteers to come to our grateful haven, pick up ingredients and prepare meals for our street friends. Join us in loving our neighbors through meals made with love. Thank you!

“Earthly food spoils and ruins. So don’t work to get that kind of food. But work to get the food that stays good always and gives you eternal life. The Son of Man will give you that food. God the Father has shown that he is with the Son of Man.” John 6:27

The Happy Givers

WE NEED YOU! Hi, community members and friends we would love to invite you to join us at Rhute. This volunteer opportunity will allow our community to see what a day in Rhute Haven is like. You will be able to serve our friends experiencing homelessness, by creating a safe and warm environment. By becoming a Happy Giver you will have the opportunity to fill their bellies and warm their hearts. The haven is a sacred place, so WE are asking YOU to help us love the city and love the broken. Any amount of your time would make a huge impact on the people we love the most. This role consists of 5 small tasks that will allow our neighbors to feel seen, heard, and valued:

  • Cleaning

  • Organizing Donations

  • Build Hygiene Packs

  • Administrative Assistance

  • Making and packaging To-Go Boxes/Home Kits

  • Writing Kind Cards for Street Friends

“You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ And this is right, because that is what I am. I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet. So you also should wash each other’s feet." John 13:14-15

Haven Cabbies

Dear friends, we are excited to announce that we are actively seeking compassionate individuals to become 'Haven Cabbies.' As a Haven Cabbie, you will play a vital role in fulfilling a significant need within our community. This unique opportunity will enable our homeless friends to have access to transportation and a caring companion. By building meaningful relationships with our clients on the road, Haven Cabbies will serve as mentors, offering both transportation and heartfelt support. Together, we aim to transform lives and bring hope and renewal to those we serve. Cabbies will exclusively transport our friends to:

  • Shelters

  • Rehab

  • Dr.’s Appointments

  • Job Interviews
